Energy Assessments - for all sectors of the property market
|
October 1st 2008, will see the final stage of
the government’s implementation of a series of
measures to ensure that virtually every property
in England and Wales has an energy certificate.
The rules apply to buildings where the public
have access to the construction, sale or letting
of all other buildings across the property market.
These requirements will be extended to Scotland
and Northern Ireland in 2009. These measures
have been imposed across the European Union.
- Assessors have to be qualified to produce
the particular type of certificate
- Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA) for residential homes
- On-Construction Domestic Energy
Assessors (OCDEA)
- Operational Ratings Assessors for public buildings
- Commercial (Non-Domestic) Energy
Assessor – for all buildings except
homes. This qualification is sub-divided
to Levels 3/4/5 of competence related
to the complexity of the building
All certificates will include recommendations for
improving the energy efficiency of the property.
However, we can offer additional services to
clients who require more in-depth analysis and
advice over and above what is provided with the
certificate.
