What is it?

Why?
The FSA routinely review FP activity – during 2008 they monitored approx 22,500 adverts, and received complaints regarding 941 adverts.
In the first half of 2008 the Financial Services advertising spend was approx £545million*.
In 2008 the FSA asked firms to amend or withdraw 200 adverts, 91 cases were referred to the ASA or OFT.
Since 2004 the FSA have fined 14 firms more than £1.5m, for failings that included breaches of the financial promotions rules.
